My colleague and friend, makeup artist Jan Murphy, is giving us a glance at this fall’s hottest makeup trends.
Fall 2017 Makeup Trends
Autumn is upon us and it’s time to indulge in the rich warm palettes that are beckoning our names. Certain colors like browns, burgundy’s, and berries will always be in style and associated with the drop in temperature. One way to update your basic brown is to layer it with a bit of shimmer and bronze. Also, try adding a plum stained lip, keeping the heat with just a hint of color and insuring wear-ability all day long. Try Clinique’s “Almost Lipstick” in “Black Honey”
Keeping with the warmth, the trend looks to take your neutral shadow a step further and bring in orange and rust tones. These tones are universally flattering, but will especially make blue eyes pop. Use Urban Decay’s “Naked Heat Palette” to play up your eyes and also bring a glow to your cheeks.
The biggest trend for fall? The timeless look and sophistication of Black. Eyes that are layered in liner and black shimmer relate to the sexy moodiness of the season. Keeping the skin natural and the lips pink and sheer, will have you looking effortlessly polished.
